They specialize in but are not limited to careers in the Pharmaceutical Chemical and Plastics Industries. They are focused on Southeast Wisconsin and Illinois but have nationwide connections. Yes Arby’s the famous fast food restaurant chain. DRM inc operates over 70 Arby’s restaurants in Nebraska Iowa Illinois and Wisconsin and they are hoping you’ll consider working with them! From this site you can fill in a "Prospective Employee Contact Form" so they can contact you but you can also email them your current resume along with a note as to the specific position and location/city that interests you. They even have a mobile accessible application for those of you who use your mobile for everything.

CPL connects patrons seeking employment with free tools including Internet access books databases and computer training. Job seekers may target their employment searches assess their skill sets and discover free resources available at the Library. If you have a CPL Borrowing Card (which is free) and computer access at home school or work then you can connect to many of their electronic resources via the web. If you need a library card or computer access stop by your closest branch where free computers and helpful CyberNavigators who are ready and willing to help you.
CareerPlace was the Barrington Career Center (Barrington IL)
"Prepare to Get Hired". This volunteer-driven not-for-profit organization is dedicated to helping people help themselves as they develop search strategies and skills and conduct an effective job search. There is a moderate annual member fee but they offer alternatives for persons who cannot afford this so please ask. Non-members can attend a couple of the Tuesday morning networking meetings (10 AM) or the Thursday evening job skills seminars (7 PM) to "try before you join". If Barrington is not close enough check their list of Links to additional resources and services.
Chicago Public Schools
CPS is actively recruiting elementary and secondary school teachers. The site features information about Alternative Certification Programs and other resources of interest to teachers. Interested individuals can apply online.
Career Resource Center (Lake Forest IL)
…"To assist anyone experiencing employment transition." There is a minimal start-up fee for new clients and returning alumni involved in a new search but all other services are free.
Gregory Laka & Company
Established in Chicago in 1964 Gregory Laka & Company is one of the oldest executive search firms in the country. They also offer contingency recruiting for numerous industries and positions. Their contingency listings are available on their website and qualified candidates can apply directly for consideration in any. They also welcome resumes from candidates who do not see anything currently listed.
…a job board listing openings within 80 miles of Chicago. Search their entire database review just the most recent postings or browse jobs by type. You can also post a "quick" resume (not the full document) using their form.
The Midtown Group
…providing staffing solutions & opportunities for any business or individual. Temp / contract / direct hire opportunities are all available. They have an extensive form for you to complete online if you just want to register yourself with them. Click on "Hot Jobs" to see their list of current openings or select "Government Contract Jobs" for a few things under that header. Midtown has offices in Chicago and Washington DC. Please note: in researching these guys I did find a complaint posted at RipOffReport about the Chicago office. It was back in 2010 and I have not seen anything except this one posting. If you are unsure talk to them.
Created and operated by Lumity a nonprofit organization that provides technology and finance services and solutions and training to Chicago area nonprofits npo.net offers local nonprofit organizations a quality resource for advertising their openings. You can review the job by various categories (full time part time volunteer) or locations (Chicago NW Indiana SE Wisconsin) or type of work or you can search by keyword. You can register for a free account but the positions I reviewed included submission information for applications so you might need to do this. However creating the account will allow you to store a resume on the site making the application process a little easier. It is a great site with numerous listings.

PSI Resources
…a boutique staffing and consulting firm with four focused practice groups — accounting/finance information technology legal and office support. Based near Chicago this firm’s clients cover numerous industries and vary from very small to very large. Interested persons can review their current list of open positions and submit a resume for consideration.
Team Discovery

"Genius at work." This Michigan-based recruiting agency places "gifted and college-educated professionals including those with hidden and visible disabilities in positions at leading companies". Founded by Adam Kaplan the candidates they work with are highly skilled professionals working in Information Technology Engineering Accounting & Finance and in other professional fields and their client list includes companies in the Manufacturing Aerospace & Defense Financial Services Medical Devices Accounting & Consulting and other industries. For those of you who are wondering what someone with a hidden or visible disability might do in this sort of professional setting check out the section on What is Genius or articles related to specific possibilities and realities. Then head over to their job database and see what opportunities exist. They are primarily working in Michigan but it looks like they want to expand to the entire country. Let’s hope it happens.
Post your resume or search for a new job from a large selection of direct hire positions from a variety of employers. While their primary market is Michigan they do have some listings from other regions. Registration is not required unless you want to set up a Job Alert Contact Manager or store a resume here and use their one-button Send Resume feature. My only complaint is that the Location list is quite long and very detailed. To get around this click on the "Jobs: ###" on the top right of the page (this shows you how many total jobs are in the database). You will be taken to a page which lists each job category and how many active postings are in each. Just select the category that interests you.

You can also review their list of offices and contact the one closest to you with any questions you might have. Please note: when you register to create an online profile you are asked for the last 4 digits of your SSN (Social Security Number). Not the SSN just the last 4 digits. At this point it is merely a personal identifier. You do not need to share your full SSN with anyone until you have actually been offered a position.

"Only IT and Tech Jobs Only Minnesota." Founded in June 2011 this site is just for posting direct hire listings (no recruiters or staffing agencies just employerts) and they do not rely on filler listings from other boards like SimplyHired and Indeed. Not the largest board out there but if this is your target field and location it will be a good one for you. Scroll down the right side to see jobs by category and city. You must register to post a resume set up email alerts and save jobs. Check out the scrolling calendar of IT events most of which are networking meetings by various interest groups. Click on a meeting to get the full info. And then get your 30-second intro rolling!

“This division provides community-based services to train, motivate and empower mature job-seekers while maintaining an active partnership with employers leading to increased opportunities for mature workers.” The headquarters is in Akron, but they serve 45 counties in Ohio from 15 offices. Their funding comes from the US Dept of Labor and the Workforce Investment Act. There are a variety of services available to mature job seekers, including job fairs in Akron and Cleveland, and training in computer use.
