MFG Energy Services, Gainesville, TX, 2012 ­ Current Senior Lead Wind Turbine Blade Field Service Technician (2013 ­ Current) Lead Wind Turbine Blade Field Service Technician (2013) Wind Turbine Blade Field Service Technician (2012 ­ 2013) Operate and maintain wind turbines and related wind plant equipment, including substation and tower switchgear, to sustain turbine operations. Inspect and document damaged blades and prepare documentation to initiate blade repair process while supervising 45+ field service blade technicians. Repair wind turbine blades such as GE’s 34a, 37c, 40xle, 48.7c, and 50.2 blades, and complete maintenance on LOTO GE 1.5 SLE / 1.6-100 XLE model turbines. Complete training of severe internal/external root and sheer-web foot carbon spar repairs involving sheer-web removal and closeout, and vacuum infusion and consolidation. Review repair work orders and correct blade malfunctions in accordance with engineering guidelines; coordinate with engineering teams up tower and down tower to complete reparative maintenance. Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with variable pitch, variable speed control systems, and components. Manage and update work order documentation database to facilitate service reporting; communicate site statuses to engineering teams, customers, and managing leadership. Spearhead composite repair training for new hires and current personnel, and lead companywide safety training. Currently lead implementation, training, and development of internal carbon spar/root repairs for GE’s fleet of 48.7c blades in California Ridge, IL, Minden, MI, and Bishop Hill, IL. Only MFG Energy Services blades composite technician assigned to GE’s Blade Extension Program. Successfully directed teams as field supervisor at numerous multi-million-dollar GE blade retrofit sites.
