EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT/DIRECTOR OF RETAIL BANKING (retired) Sep 1995 to Aug 2012 Aliant Bank Birmingham, AL Provided general oversight of all daily operations for the $1B community bank serving Central Alabama with 15 branch locations. Engaged in policy design, large loan approvals, major budgetary item approvals, audits and compliance, safety and soundness, technology, community reinvestment and major hiring decisions. Played a key role on the executive management team. Conducted risk management, working within a committee that arrived at decisions about desired loan and deposit mixes along with alternative funding methods. Retained accountability for the performance and tasks of 95 team members engaged in retail administration, marketing, wealth management, treasury management and training. Managed all retail banking, including branch locations, staffing, deposits, consumer loans, small business lending, customer service, product development/management, marketing, audit/compliance, and the development of annual strategic plans. Established a new retail administration function, redirecting branch reporting from the local regional president to a centralized retail administration without alienating a critical link between the branches and regional teams.
