Tailor First Paragraph to Purpose of Your Cover Letter

TeenaRoseBook.jpg If you are responding to a job advertisement, you’ll want to indicate in your first paragraph the specific title of the position and how you learned about it. Because you know more about the job, you can really hone in on how well you match its qualifications. If you are writing a letter inquiring about possible job openings, you’ll want to state the specific type of job you’re seeking. Since this is an unsolicited letter, it’s even more important to sell yourself as a good fit for the company.
