1. Have you ever worked in customer service in any of your previous jobs?

Yes. In my current position, I’m responsible for directing customers to the offices in which they need to do their business and generally ensuring that they have everything they need during their visit. In my last job, I had the opportunity to connect with customers on a daily basis while figuring out what type of coverage they required from their insurance policies and what their budget would allow for. This experience has really taught me to treat all customers with respect and how to remain patient when some of them get a bit testy.

2. How do you stay up to date on laws regarding insurance?

Overall, I just proactively check the news networks available to those in our line of work and other resources for any news of changing laws. I know how important it is for all employees within a company to adhere to these codes, and I’m also aware of how adversely failing to do so can impact not only the business in question but the customer as well. Therefore, I regularly check for these changes so I can rest assured I’m always presenting good, law-abiding work from my desk. Do you have any suggestions on additional ways to keep up with any changes that I might benefit from while on the job?

3. How do you prioritize your work load?

I always make time to assess my projects and decide which ones need to be finished first alongside the size of the project that needs to be done. Traditionally, I’ll take care of rapidly approaching deadlines first and work on the details of larger projects that might be a bit further down the road. This way I can ensure I’m making a bit of headway on everything while also making sure that no smaller but more immediate responsibilities are slipping through the cracks. Staying organized is a huge component of this, and I’ve established a system of keeping things in order throughout my professional career in the insurance industry that’s helped a lot so far.

4. What are some methods you use to remain focused when on the job?

My main motivation to stay focused on the job is the fact that I’m doing work that even indirectly helps others throughout their daily lives. My work might be done at a desk behind the scenes, but the responsibilities I have are still crucial to getting clients and their families where they need to be financially as well as protecting them from unexpected situations which could leave them broke if they’re not insured correctly. I like to help people, and that’s what helps keep me focused on my work throughout the day.

5. How organized are you when it comes to your work space?

My work space is generally immaculate. Staying organized during every aspect of my job is one of my highest priorities, as it’s essential to ensuring that no work falls through the cracks unnoticed. I have pride in my work, and always want to put my best foot forward. Keeping my space organized allows me to do this by keeping things where they belong and allowing me the space I need to get the job done. I find that a clean, organized work space helps me focus better on my work.
