Broadcast Engineer Resume Questions
Even with no experience, you can create a strong resume that gets attention. When you list your work history, focus on responsibilities that transfer well to other jobs. For example, creating and maintaining databases, filing, updating websites, and collaborating with colleagues are great work experiences that you should write down. Polish up your education section as well. Did you have internships, work study, or apprenticeships while in school? Place them with your degree programs. If you took any extra workshops, such as antenna computer modeling, they belong in this section, too.
For your qualifications section, focus on your top six to eight skills. Use bullet points with short statements that succinctly describe what you can do. Mention technical skills, such as repairing production equipment and installing cable, and also soft skills, such as creative problem-solving and multitasking. Try to match your skills to the job description and incorporate keywords from the description if you can.
Showcase your software knowledge by adding it to the skills section of your resume. You can write, “proficient in Simian and DigitalJukebox,” for example. Describing your software experience in your work history is another powerful way to present it. If you implemented a software program for a new broadcast format, it shows employers that you can apply your tech skills to real, on-the-job situations.
Some companies, such as Cisco, give certifications for achieving levels of competency and excellence in their software. If you have earned any of those, create a section for them at the bottom of your resume and list them there.

The summary can be a short paragraph, but all the other sections should have a bulleted list. Present your work experience and education in reverse chronological order.
You have options for including your achievements on your resume. You can mention one or two in your summary by calling yourself an, “SBE award-winning broadcast engineer.” Including achievements with your experiences is also a good idea. For example, “implemented interactive broadcast features that increased audience by 18%” shows that your work produces results.
