1. Could you describe your sales approach?

When it comes to my personal sales approach, I believe a combination of honesty and empathy is necessary to make a sale. Consumers view a multitude of insurance advertisements regularly, and every company promises to provide them with the best services at the lowest prices. It is not possible for everyone to be the best, and consumers know this, so you need to be honest. Explain how your product differs from everyone else’s, in a positive manner of course. Secondly, show your customers that you understand their feelings. While keeping these things in mind, I carefully explain the product to the customer in great detail.

2. Do you have any past experience in the insurance industry?

I have a history as an insurance salesperson for various companies. In my first role, it was my job to set appointments with potential consumers and explain to them why they should do business with the company. I was highly successful in this role, and I frequently met my quota and received commendations from others. In my second role, I was responsible for training new salespersons. I mentored these individuals and explained the ins and outs of the industry. I also managed a call center where customers could call in with their questions and concerns.

3. Have you ever had a conflict with a boss or coworker? If so, how was it resolved?

I have had minor disagreements with coworkers in previous positions. The majority of the time, these conflicts stemmed from differing viewpoints. In one situation, I did not agree with a company policy regarding the insurance sales quotas for new hires. I felt that they were too high and would lead to a greater turnover rate. I addressed my concerns with my supervisor, who remained sympathetic to my views. After speaking with the supervisor, as well as other managers, we all agreed to lower the quotas for new hires. The recommendation was later implemented at other branches.

4. What made you decide to enter the insurance field?

Ever since I was a kid, I enjoyed interacting with others on a regular basis. This love of social interaction is what prompted me to enter the insurance industry. I believe in providing customers with exceptional products, so I enjoy working for companies that stand by their insurance products. After just a short period of time in the field, I realized that selling insurance to consumers at an individual level made me happy.

5. What do you know about our company? Are you familiar with our brand and approach to insurance sales?

I know a great deal about your company, and I feel that I share the same values as your organization. I admire your dedication to customer service and providing a superior product. I also share the belief that a company should give back to the community. I have viewed your insurance packages, and I would be proud to sell these products to customers on a regular basis. Your company has all the things that I look for in an employer.

6. Are you comfortable working for a commission?

I believe that all insurance salespersons should be compensated based on their performance. In my previous two positions, I received a commission, and I felt that it was adequate. I also believe that if one chooses to work in the sales or insurance industry, you should be comfortable working for a commission. As long as a company provides an acceptable base salary and benefits in addition to the commission, there shouldn’t be a problem in terms of compensation.
