Resume Templates: Customs Broker

With increasing restrictions on trade, professional customs brokers are needed to ensure that imports and exports are handled in a safe and legal manner. This position often requires its holder to act on behalf of a company or individual through a power of attorney. Obviously, this is a huge responsibility, so emphasize your competence, training, trustworthiness, and attention to detail on your resume.

A customs broker must be able to prepare extensive documentation, so you should list strong writing and computer skills in a prominent place on your resume. Other duties include paying taxes or other duties on shipments, coordinating the shipment of goods to their final destination, and signing documents on behalf of clients. Math skills are a huge plus. Your knowledge about current regulations will also improve your chances of landing this pivotal position.
