In order to land a job as a cheerleading coach, you need a resume that demonstrates that you have both the technical ability and the personality necessary to do the job well. If your resume clearly communicates your past coaching experience as well as your enthusiasm and work ethic, the hiring manager will be bending over backwards to schedule your interview!
In the experience section of your resume, you’ll list the hard facts – championships your teams have won, the after school programs you’ve lead, the graduation rate of your cheerleaders. The summary and highlights sections of your resume provide the opportunity to let your personality shine through. Since you will be working with young people, your character and value system will be of interest to your employer. Use this space at the top of your resume to share a bit about yourself and your coaching philosophy.
