Don’t include your full, physical address, and be sure to use a professional-sounding personal email address. Your current work email and work phone number do not belong on your application materials.
Your qualifications section should draw attention to a few ways in which your education, experience, strengths, and skills overlap with the job description’s requirements. You can use bullet points to create a list for this section instead of writing things out in paragraph form. Remember, you’ll have room for a few more details in your experience section, and if all goes well, you’ll get an opportunity to explain things in more depth at an in-person interview. If this will be your first sales job, you’ll need to focus more on your transferable skills and less on your work history. If you have any sales or marketing training, list it in your education section. You should also include relevant soft skills such as interpersonal communication, coaching, ascertaining and filling the needs of others, and managing multiple projects at once.
An objective statement is no longer considered a part of an effective resume, unless you are just entering the workforce or trying to change fields. Otherwise, instead of stating your objective, which is, presumably, to get hired, create a professional summary at the top of your document.
